Section for Integrative Neuroscience

Work in the section concentrates on basic research on neuronal control of movement and includes work on networks underlying higher brain functions such as learning and perception.  The research stretches from molecules, neurons  and networks to behavior and use a battery of technique and a range of vertebrate models and humans. A vision of the research is to link basic integrative neuroscience to clinic with the overall aim to improve diagnosis and treatment of neurological diseases and optimize neurorehabilitation linked to Parkinson’s Disease, Cerebral Palsy, the aging brain, repair of nerve injury, respiratory diseases, Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, spinal cord injury and stroke.
